Field Service & Assembly Engineer (f/m/d) (En) - Based in Thailand
Your Responsibilities
We are seeking a motivated Field Service & Assembly Engineer to support the assembly, maintenance, and continuous operation of specialized machines and test equipment used in optoelectronics production. This role combines hands-on technical work with cross-functional collaboration and offers insight into advanced automation and optical module manufacturing technologies.
- Participate in the assembly of special-purpose machines and test devices for optoelectronics production
- Acquire in-depth knowledge of the design, function, and process flow of the assigned systems
- Provide first-level support on-site, including maintenance, calibration, and planned repairs
- Deliver guided second-level support together with engineering teams
- Repair, replace, and integrate electrical, pneumatic, and motion-control components
- Manage and maintain technical documentation, including pneumatic schematics, wiring diagrams, and assembly instructions
- Collaborate closely with mechatronics engineering, process engineering, production, and quality teams to ensure smooth operation and continuous improvement
What You Bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechatronics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a closely related field
- Experience with 3D CAD models, technical drawings, and wiring schematics for mechanical and electrical assemblies
- Hands-on experience with electronics and electrical system assembly
- Strong understanding of electronics, electrical systems, mechanical assembly, and tooling practices
- Good knowledge of design standards, GD&T, and technical drawing principles
- Solid understanding of machine elements, motion-control technology, and engineering materials
- Strong teamwork, analytical thinking, and problem-solving skills
- Good command of English, including technical terminology (C1)
- Candidate must have official permission to work in Thailand
Ideally, you also have i.e.
- Knowledge of tooling, machining, and EDM processes.
- Basic understanding of fibre-optic components.
- First experience working in intercultural context
- Experience working with fiber-optic components during equipment assembly, development, or testing.
- German Skills (B2)
